Hooray! It's a finish. I completed the last of my Cricket Collection seasons series. This is the Summer one. I hand dyed the fabric from a white 28 ct. Brittney Lugana, so I especially love it. I wish the photos would accurately display the fabric colors, but here are all 4. Ready to FFO!
I occasionally stitch a stamped cross stitch top, blocks, or quilt for friends and family if they want a special gift. Once the quilt (or top) is stitched, I hand quilt a flannel or cotton backing on it and personalize it, if desired. This week, I'm working on the Transportation quilt blocks from JDNA. This is a popular one. I've purchased and stitched this one 3 times.
My friend Stacie is running a SAL in the Stitching and Friends discord group for the month of September. It has been so fun seeing all the different ones people have chosen to work on. I really like doing biscornus so I thought I would pull some more out of my pile to work on.
I started the Candy Cane biscornu from The Blue Flower on August 15th. I took a class at the Jingle Ball for creating biscornus and this was the chart. We were give two versions and all of the materials needed in the kitted option. I previously stitched the fist version and saved this second one for a later date. I'm excited that this date has arrived!

I've already completed the biscornu and two pillows from this book and I'm absolutely loving working on the sampler.
Fabric: 40 ct. TychI started Mitten in the Snow for my next biscornu for the Discord special event. I wanted something quick and wintery to tide me over until the fabric arrives for my Halloween biscornu.
I finished the Stitching Quaker. I like to do quick stitches between larger projects. The quakers usually take me about 2 days, so I slipped this one in.
Floss: Called for Colour and Cotton
Note: I did have to use the darker blue on a few of the motifs because I used the remainder of the floss left over from the Stitching Rules and ran out of the light blue.
The Stitching N Friends 22 Discord group has a special event running starting August 12th through the end of September. We meet and stitch together on the Tuesdays during that timeframe to work on our Biscornus. I love biscornus, so I decided to do a couple to use for some upcoming smalls exchanges. I loved the colors I chose for this one. The fabric is like a burnt orange and makes the pattern just scream Autumn.
My first choice was: Autumn Biscornu by Olga Omidi

Floss: Called for DMC
Fabric: TBD, choosing between a 36 ct. linen or 18 ct. aida. I do have a really nice piece of 20 ct. Bellana too. Hmm, decisions, decisions... I have 2 more days to choose.
Flosses: I decided to splurge and get the Vikki Clayton silk pack for this. I was going to have to purchase all of the called for Gentle Arts anyway, so I decided to try the silks instead.
(I saw a finished piece done in the silks, and that may have swayed me a bit.)
Today I worked on the first round of our Band Sampler Round Robin. See my earlier post about the Discord Band Sampler for more information. Here is my addition to BR's band. It took a long time to decide which of her colors I wanted to use, but the stitching went fast.
