It's a finish!  Christmas Garden by Blackbird Designs

Stitched 1/2 on 30 ct. Linen (linen) from Weeks Dye Works.

I changed all the flosses.  I used: DMC 115 (red), CCW Pine Needles (green), WDW Bee's Knees (light gold), DMC 680 (darker gold on pots - backstitched with Treasure gold silk lame) and CCW Almost Auburn for the deer and the text. The two full horizontal borders are also stitched with the gold silk lame.

 Secret Stitch

The first stitch of the day was continued stitching on my secret stitch.  I was able to complete the stitch and will FFO it soon.

Lavender Honey - Erin Elizabeth

DotDotGoose Discord Group - Designer of the Month for February 2026

I started the Lavender Honey stitch today.  This will complete the Lavender display pieces I previously stitched.  I have finishing pieces for all of these projects and will most likely find time to prep some of them for painting tomorrow.  (I don't think it will take long for me to finish the stitch.)

Lavender Honey

I plan to display these pieces with the Bee Farm display I completed last year (shown below).  I could also stitch the Bee-scornu pattern to complete it.

Red Bunny Sampler - Pansy Patch - DotDot Goose Discord SAL

I completed the second section of the Red Bunny Sampler.  We did find one small mistake in the chart in the border on the right side.  So far, I'm on schedule.

Just a comment:  the called for Belle Soie (Tulip) looks a lot brighter on my stitch than in the chart.

MODEL STITCH -- Sh!

I decided I had to have one of the model stitches that I  just completed for the designer for myself.  I've been stitching a second copy to keep.  I just love the pattern.  It will be released at the Nashville Needlework Market in March.  Until then... it is under wraps.  I'll post a picture as soon as it is released.

 Discord Round Robin Band Sampler

I worked on one of the band samplers for one of my Discord groups today.  I had a tough time deciding which of the provided colors of floss I was going to use.  When I did start stitching, I changed two of the flosses.  So much for agonizing over which ones to pick.  LOL!  I think we only have 4 more to stitch.  The round robin has gone pretty quickly, and each one has been beautiful.

Red Bunny - Pansy Patch - DotDot Goose Discord SAL

The Red Bunny came out of the WIP basket today too.  I started on section 2 of our SAL and will most likely finish it tomorrow.

Here's my progress.

We are working down the right side border and then will stitch the numbers and the houses at the bottom.

Fabric:  36 ct. Platinum Linen

Floss:  Belle Soie, Tulip 1/2

 Christmas Garden - Blackbird Designs

I met today's goal and finished the left side of the sampler.

This just leaves the text and border at the bottom of the sampler.

I have a few other stitches to work on so this one will be put aside for a few days.  It is beautiful.

Christmas Garden - Blackbird Designs (WIP)

I only had a little time to stitch today, but I did manage to finish 1/2 of the left side of the sampler.

This just leaves one and 1/2 motifs to finish tomorrow.

See previous posts for fabric and floss information.

Tues. Feb. 17, 2026

I stitched another section of the "Christmas Garden" by Blackbird Designs today.  I hope to finish this by the end of February.  We'll see!

I'm stitching this 2/2 on 30 ct. Weeks Dye Works, natural linen.

I wanted a brighter version, so I changed all the flosses. I'm using DMC 115 for all the red, Classic Colorworks Pine Needles for the green, Weeks Dye Works Bee's Knees for all the yellow sections and DMC 783 for all the pots.  I stitched the deer in Classic Colorworks Almost Auburn.  I also used a Petite Silk Lame Braid in gold to add shine to the pots and for some of the horizontal border lines.  I'm not sure what color I will do the text in.  Most likely I will use the darker gold floss (DMC 783).

This pattern is found in the "Home for the Holidays" book from Blackbird Designs.  I found it at 123Stitch.

Originally charted with...

"Christmas Garden" stitched on 30 count Sheeo Straw by R&R Reproductions using Classic Color Works and Gentle Arts threads.

Stitch count 225W x 272H.

Finished size 15" x 18.13".

We started another SAL in the DotDotGoose Discord group.  This one is "Red Bunny" from PansyPatch.

Finished size: 10" x 10.56"

Stitch count: 180w x 190h

Fabric: 18ct Aida or 36ct Linen

Floss color: DMC 814 and DMC 816 or Classic Colorworks Tulip (2 skeins)

A PDF is available at Fat Quarter Shop.

Print copies are available at multiple online shops and local needlework stores.

I'm stitching mine 1/2 on 36 ct. platinum linen with the called for Tulip Belle Soie silk.  Some of us will be breaking it into weekly sections in order to complete it before Easter.  Here's my start.

Fri. Feb 13, 2026

The designer of the month for February in the DotDotGoose Discord group is Erin Elizabeth.  I had several charts in my stash to pick from.  I decided to stitch the charts in the Lavender booklet.   Fabric:  32 ct. antique white lugana. Called for DMC flosses stitched 2/2.  I will also be stitching the Lavender Honey chart on the Market Fresh sign and the Bee-scornu.

I will be FFO'ing these on the wood display pieces from Paisley's and Polka Dots.

Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026

It was a busy day of stitching!

I started out the day getting a few more stitches in the Christmas Garden by Blackbird, then I pulled out an old WIP for our patriotic mayhem event on Discord later in the day.

I worked on America the Beautiful by Stitching with the Housewives.  I was able to finish up the flag during the event. Our challenges were:  wear red, white & blue, show a past patriotic stitch, start a patriotic stitch or stitch a star, flag, or fireworks.

We are also running an Olympic Stitching Challenge while the Winter Olympics are in session.

Today's challenge was to stitch something new.  I accomplished that task by starting a new stitch.  I want to use the secondary pattern that Teresa Kogut will be releasing at Nashville in one of my displays.  Fortunately, I was the model stitcher so I was able to start a second stitch just for me!  Of course, I can't show you a picture of it yet, you'll just have to wait until market!

Today I worked on Christmas Garden by Blackbird Designs.

I got the center motif at the bottom of the chart completed.

I plan to continue stitching tomorrow, working on the gold border underneath the motif that runs from side to side.  I am stitching this border in the gold silk lame.

Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026 - Let's give it a whirl

Thursday, Feb. 5, 2026

I'm going to post things a little differently for a few days to see if I can stay up to date.  Instead of writing in my calendar, I'm just going to post here what I work on each day.

This morning I finished the Tired Trio by Paulette Stewart of Plum Street Samplers.

Fabric:  36 ct.  linen, Affogato

Floss:  Called for flosses.

This stitch was hidden in my bin of WIPs with only one of the sloths stitched.   I found it when I was planning for 2026, so I popped it right into my WIPGO board.

This was a project I kitted up on my trip to Keepsakes in Ohio. That was my first trip to a LNS.  I started it during a Hobby House retreat in the spring of 2025.

Mystery SAL AI 1664 - February 2026 - Fox & Rabbit

This is the January and February sections of the Mystery Band Sampler SAL from Fox & Rabbit.  The assigned sections of the pattern is posted every month on their website.  It is a free design.  I decided to do mine on 36 ct. Valley Forge by Needle & Flax with Pas de Deux floss from Colour and Cotton.

I'm loving working on this!.
