I finally finished the May section of the Chatelaine Watergarden SAL.  We added the blue sections in all four quadrants.   So far, so good!

FFO: Patriotic Project Bag

I tried my hand at combining a couple of my favorite project bag designs to come up with something I'd like to make.  I was very pleased.

FFOs: Teresa Kogut

Today I FFO'd some recent stitches from Teresa Kogut.

Our Discord group decided to do patriotic stitches on all the days ending with the number 4 (the 4th, 14th, and 24th).

The first stitches I chose were Teresa Kogut's:

        • Patriotic Tweet
        • USA Star
        • God Bless the USA

I decided to use the same fabric and flosses, so some conversion was necessary.

Fabric:  32 ct. light taupe lugana

Flosses:  If you'd like my floss conversion, let me know.

New supplies! Charms

I have a small stash of beads that someone gave to me, so I learned how to make counting pins, scissor fobs, and zipper pulls for project bags.  I quite enjoy the process.  I do like to put charms on the end, so I've been trying to find a good but inexpensive source.

My latest haul... mainly sewing related ones, but they were nice quality.

A Visit to Hobby House Needleworks

I met up with one of my Discord friends to visit Hobby House Needleworkse today.  This is my local (1 hour away) needlework shop.

Tina is from Texas, so it's quite the distance for her.  Here she is browsing all the beautiful fabric.  We had a great time.  We definitely need to plan a longer visit next time.

If you'd like to see a nice tour of Hobby House, here's a great flosstube from Brenda and the Serial Starter.  View Flosstube

Dwelling Place - Teresa Kogut (New Start)

Today is June 14th.  As part of the 250th Bday SAL with DotDotGoose Design on the Stitching N Friends Discord, we stitch on anything patriotic and days of the month that end with a 4 (the 4th, 14th, & 24th).

I'm starting the Dwelling Place sampler from Teresa Kogut and will continue to stitch on the sampler those specific days of the month as part of the SAL.  While not strictly patriotic, the color scheme and motifs used match pretty well as it is primarily red, white and blue.

I'm stitching it on 40 ct. Tycho Edinburgh linen with all the called for flosses.

I previously stitched the Biscornu and 2 small pillows from this book.

I'll try to remember to post my progress each day that I stitch on it.

If you'd like to join the SAL, you can download the free Discord app, create an account and click the link below to join us on those #4 days of the month.  (Look for us in the 250th bday SAL room.

4th of July Round - Primrose Cottage (New Start)

Today's new start was the 4th of July Round by Primrose Cottage.  It was the Free Stitch Friday for June 2025.  I'm off to a good start. Stitched on 32 ct. taupe lugana with the Valdani floss provided: Light Ecru, Primitive Blue, and Rich Wine.

The kit included the floss which was Valdani.  I liked the flosses.  Although a little rougher to use, tangling more than DMC, the variegation was just beautiful and I would use them again. I stitched half of the pattern in a few hours.

Patriotic Scissor Pocket - The Scarlett House (Finish)

I finished all three of the projects in the Patriotic Scissor Pocket pattern today.

I stitched all of these on 40 ct. Sand linen from Picture this Plus.

I used all the called for flosses except I substituted Classic Colorworks Cherry Cobbler for the GAST Country Redwood.

All three were a blast to stitch and stitched up quickly.

I hope to finish them as the pattern showed: scissor pocket, pillow and scissor fob.

Patriotic Biscornu - Siren Stitchworks (FFO)

I finished and FFO'd the Patriotic Biscornu from Siren Stitchworks.

Fabric:  32 ct. taupe lugana

Flosses:  (my conversion)

321, 498, 823, 826 & Blanc

I did add a few more white stitches in the center than the pattern called for.

I found this pattern a bit harder to stitch and it required several episodes of frogging.  Aargh!  The chart was difficult to read which I felt led to some of the problems I experienced.

12 Monthly Minis (March) - Primrose Cottage (FFO)

Quick FFO of the March Monthly Mini.

I decided to stitch this as a biscornu.  It's stitched on 32 ct.  mystery linen from my stash with DMC floss.
