February 2025 Statistics

February was a tough month to get any stitching done.  I spent the first week so sick with the flu I didn't want to do anything.  Thank goodness that finally passed and I finally got to stitching!

Dwelling Place Pillow 1 - Creative Whims

This pattern is from the "Dwelling Place" booklet by Teresa Kogut from Creative Whims studio.

I finally decided to bite the bullet and try a 40 ct. linen.  I don't know what I was afraid of. I absolutely love stitching on it.

Since I mastered the pin stitch start with one strand, it was no problem moving from 36 to 40 ct.   I do like the coverage much better on the 40 ct. I use magnification when I stitch so the size isn't really a problem.

Fabric:  40 ct. Tych linen

Floss: Called for flosses.

Hometown SAL, pg. 14 - Teresa Kogut's Patreon

This is the February 2025 installment of Teresa Kogut's Patreon "Hometown" SAL.

Fabric:  36 ct. Vintage Country Mocha

Floss:  Called for flosses

Stitched: 1/2

Home for the Holidays - Primrose Cottage

I'm still working on some of the Holiday patterns in my stash.  Here is "Home for the Holidays" by Lindsey Weight from Primrose Cottage.  This was in the Christmas Sip-N-Stitch box.  Also included in the box was a vessel, needle minder (shown in photo), and 2 other patterns (Cup of Cheer & Warm Winter Stitches).

I will use the finishing materials provided in the box to FFO all the patterns.

Fabric:  32 ct. light taupe lugana

Floss:  Suggested DMCs

Winter Quaker - Primrose Cottage

I finally had some time to start and finish the Winter Quaker by Primrose Cottage.  Once I start one, I can't stop. LOL!

Fabric:  32 ct. ice grey lugana

Floss:  Color & Cotton, Battleship

I will either finish this as a pillow or on a flat to mount on a board I have in my stash.

Chatelaine Watergarden SAL 2025 - Part 2 - February

Part 2 - Finished!

I finished Part 2 of the Chatelaine Watergarden SAL today.  The frog did come out to play for the first time, but his visit was short (thank goodness).  I stitch specialty threads and beads after I complete all the cross stitches, so those parts are still blank.

I really love stitching Chatelaines.  It's not something I would try to stitch if I'm tired or grouchy, but I like the symmetry.

Look what I got!

NEW! floor stand and scroll frame

I'm so excited because I finally got a big floor stand large enough to hold large scroll frames.  I never thought I'd be able to afford one, but I came across a sale I couldn't resist.

This is a K's Creations Stowaway Elite with the Universal Clamps.

I like the ability to fold it down and I really like the Universal clamps because I do use Q snaps up to about 20", then I switch to Lokscroll frames from Artisan Design for larger widths.

All I had to do was set it up, attach my magnifying light and ipad and I was stitching away.

I really like stitching Chatelaines so this new stand is absolutely wonderful! I've used it at my recliner, from my couch, and in a chair.  All are comfortable.

Frosty Tiny Town - Heart in Hand

It's still snowing here in CNY, so why not stitch some more winter patterns?  Today's finish was Frosty Tiny Town from Heart in Hand Needleart. It's so cute! I have a display piece from Paisley's and Polka Dots, but you'll see that when I FFO it.

Fabric:  32 ct. stormy weather lugana (the un-mottled side)

Floss:  Suggested DMCs

I will finish this on a Long wood display frame from Paisleys and Polka Dots.
